Ideas about what everyone with a maple with a huge hollow trunk of a medium?
We have a massive maple in our Front yard that has a trunk that is half empty. We just moved here and in fact we did not realize when you look at the tree at Home. We were more concerned by the House and the tree shows no signs of problems. Its trunk is hollow in the other s ide (which looks like a problem several years ago) and are concerned that the drop. The mother of my friend has an old cotton-wood that had the same problem and filled with concrete. It was well for years without any problems so far. Anyone have heard say that? Is this a good idea? It worked for her but I fear that when cut, will hinder the process. I think the shutter sparks chainsaw !!!!! Ideas or answers you know what to do? Thank you!
You can follow the idea of advertising, but I leave the tree alone. The tree and the damage it has survived many storms. Do not use concrete or any type of sealant, it antagonize the damage. Ask someone which air would be a good idea. They'll probably recommend corrective pruning to stabilize the tree. RScott
